The Wee Beasties Storybundle
I’ve joined a new StoryBundle, and this one has teeth.
The Wee Beasties StoryBundle, curated by Kristine Kathryn Rusch, is all about creatures that look small and harmless…right up until they don’t. Fairies, pixies, halflings, cats, mice, corgis, ghosts, orcs playing baseball, elves playing baseball, bats, rats, and other assorted critters all show up in these stories. Fourteen books total, with eight of them exclusive to this bundle—including mine.
StoryBundle works on a pay-what-you-want model. Pay the minimum and you unlock the core set of books; pay the bonus price and you get all fourteen titles, DRM-free. Once the bundle’s done, the exclusives go back into the vault and up to regular prices (or disappear for a while), so this is very much a limited-time beastie migration.
My book: Defenders of Dream
My contribution to the Wee Beasties StoryBundle is Defenders of Dream, an animal fantasy collection set in one of my favorite worlds, the dream one:
- A cat with a sword and a purple waistcoat.
- A pug with twin katanas.
- A nightmare-eating spider.
- A girl whose dreams are a little more powerful than anyone expected.
While Jaela sleeps, her cat Ferntail goes to work guarding her dreams from the monsters that would very much like to snack on them. He’s joined by friends of a wee beastie nature–lots of adventure–and plenty of “nothing is what it seems.”
If you like animal fantasy with a slightly spooky edge, middle grade–friendly stories that adults can still sink their teeth into, or guardians who take their jobs way too seriously despite being small and fluffy, Defenders of Dream should hit the spot…the kind of spot that makes sense at 3 a.m.
Doing a Little Good
A portion of the proceeds from the Wee Beasties StoryBundle goes to World Central Kitchen, which helps feed people in disaster zones and crisis situations around the world. So you get a stack of animal-powered stories and help support a real-world good cause at the same time.
Get It before It's Gone!
The Wee Beasties StoryBundle is only available for a short run. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. (Aaaand you never know how long it’s gonna take me to get the collection posted elsewhere.)
Ready for sword cats, nightmare pugs, and a whole pack of animal fantasy?
