Adventures du jour! After spinning myself up about something, I got a sinus infection (not a surprise). I took a bath and played Baba Is You for a while. Baba Is You is a delightfully simple game about WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK I’M A WALL NOW redefining meaning. I didn’t get very far but had […]
Adventures du jour! Jesus fuck my hips are sore today. I’m mostly gonna write about yoga-slash-mind-body-practice; you’ve been warned. What I’m finding out lately about yoga are things I knew at one level, but didn’t know at this level until recently. Now that I know things at this other level, I need to restate them
Adventures du jour! Urgh. Last night was a bad one; I was doing great with the writing until I hit a particularly judgy character (not one of the main ones) who said something to Goth Girl that had me seeing red. I was too close to being overwhelmed with anger anyway and had to quit
Adventures du jour! During yoga, I found a way to release a bunch of the muscles in the basket of the hips, that made it feel like I was holding a steel ball in there, that I could roll around. With tree pose, one hip was still pretty ooky, but with the other one it
Adventures du jour! Today was Ray’s birthday. Happy 21st! I went nuts on the food and made ramen and designed a cocktail (taki margarita) for her. It was nice to do some non-basic cooking, but I don’t think I’ll go back to doing it as often as I used to. I just don’t need it.
Adventures du jour! Slept in a bit, woke up feeling waaaaaaay better than yesterday, skipped yoga so I could get outside before it got too hot, promised myself I’d do it later–didn’t. On the walk, I had a couple of moments where my solar plexus tightened up again, just like my traps did when I
Adventures du jour! Today: more horrible headaches (nauseating ones) as the body works out the aftereffects of releasing years of tension around the solar plexus. Lots of good tradeoffs, though. Instead of bending forward and relaxing into being able to put my hands on the floor, I can now pop down easily and have to
Adventures du jour! Yesterday I got through most of the scene in my WIP that was giving me the fits, by heading into a sore spot for poor Goth Girl. My subconscious roughly reminded me that this is a therapy book and I spent a couple of hours last night crying and writing. There’s a
Adventures du jour! Yoga: I got to do yoga on the patio while the fog rolled in. It just doesn’t get any better than that. Lower back tight, horrible headache/neckache, chest tight, hips in rebellion, feet felt like bricks. In a good mood. By the time I was done I felt fine. I think I
Adventures du jour! If I crap out today, it’s because I feel like I can barely keep my eyes open. Ray says she feels the same way. It’s gray out, possibly a storm coming in. Yoga: The knot at the back of my neck had started to creep back in yesterday. I tracked it down
