Your April 1st tarot reading!
Today’s adventure: a Tarot reading, using the Pulp Tarot Deck, by Todd Alcott.
Today’s card, the Fool: cautioned by instinct, driven by idealism, moving the wrong way, right off the end of the fucking cliff. (I pulled this one; it wasn’t by chance.)
Yesterday’s card: Three of Wands, upright. Two stayed behind, a gateless gate, a dilemma that required a third solution; what goes forward from that point was, necessarily, new. Expect delays; be ready to move.
Tomorrow’s card: Five of Wands, reversed. Chaos will surround you. You can either narrow your focus and ignore it, or find the hidden parallels, alliances, and opportunities within it; you might even consider becoming yourself the trickster who causes the chaos.
Wands: The realm of action and behavior, rewards and punishments, anger and other passions, raw power and its responsibilities and outcomes.
Three: Things that are effective wedges to begin change.
Five: What comes after the illusion of stability is broken.
Reading:
You have recently begun to confront the idea of change and are trying to frame it in the most positive way possible, even though it means an uncomfortable mix of delays (when will things ever get moving?!?) and stepping past limitations you didn’t realize you’d enforced on yourself.
You remember thinking at one point: It *should* all work out, right? With a minimum of fuss? Please?
Right now, you’re not sure what’s going on, just that it’s weird, not terrible, kind of fun even. Part of you (not unjustly) is waiting for something horrible to happen.
It will: bad things, good things, reversals, twists, confrontations, recursions, fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, true love, miracles. You *will* find yourself back at this point over and over again. Life makes us fools; if it doesn’t, you’re probably doing it wrong.
Soon (again, still) there will be more chaos. This time, though, you have the opportunity to navigate it with ease, if not easily. Keep your eye on something steady and your feet nimble, able to dance. It won’t look graceful. Nobody will know how complex it is, trying to navigate the situation. Keep it up for long enough, though, and you’ll find the eye of the hurricane: it’s you.
Happy April Fool’s!

Here are the cards from the reading. It’s not a gentle reading. That doesn’t mean you can’t be gentle with yourself about it.
